9.0 About: How to write a Data Management Plan
In this section you will learn to plan your project well. The Data Management Plan (DMP) is a project management tool revolving around everything that has to do with your data. The key is to chunk down all the steps ahead of you, to help you through your PhD project step by step.
Note that many PhD projects are sub-projects within a larger project. So you should confer the DMP of the larger project. But also write a DMP for your own PhD project. It will be of great help to you.
You will find an introduction to the concept of Data Management Plans in the Introduction section. It is advised to watch the video you find there, if you haven't already done so, before you go on through this section on Data Management Plans.
After working through this section, you should be able to:
- Explain the main sections of a Data Management Plan.
- Understand how the effort to write a Data Management Plan is useful to the research progress.
- Present the elements to be included in a Data Management Plan.
- Demonstrate how to write a Data Management Plan.
